Tantalizing Tuesday: Supermoon No. 5 in 2014

Did you see that big, beautiful, bright ball in the sky last night, at least in this, my part of the world? That was our fifth and final Supermoon this year.

I find the moon sexy: circular (i.e., curvy), full, enlightened, and mysterious, and also with a bright glow. Doesn't that sound feminine and divine? ;)

Do you believe that there are more accidents/deaths/suicides during a full moon, maybe even more so with a Supermoon? Or did we just as a mass collective decide that? That is, did we believe that, agree to it, and thus create that? "What?!" you might ask, "Are you crazy?!" Perhaps, but not in this regard! ;)

You see there is at least one, if not two laws or principles that operate here: One is the 'Law of Attraction' also known as (aka) 'LOA.' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_attraction_%28New_Thought%29)

The other is known by various names including the "observer-expectancy effect", "a form of reactivity in which a researcher's cognitive bias causes them to unconsciously influence the participants of an experiment" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observer-expectancy_effect) or simply known as the "observer effect" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observer_effect_%28physics%29).

Essentially, that means that what you focus your attention on acts in a way that you expect it to! You basically see and/or get what you expect. Isn't that phenomental? Astounding even?

Hopefully this will clearly indicate that I am not crazy when I stated the above comment: the one where you thought perhaps that I was "off my rocker?" ;)

Also see my previous posts from July 15th for Rumi and/or Michael Jackson fans (http://xpressyouressence.blogspot.ca/2014/07/lunar.html), and Part 2 the following day for devotees of yoga and/or meditation (http://xpressyouressence.blogspot.ca/2014/07/part-2-lunar-effects.html).

What do you think of the observer effect? And theories around the full moon including the Supermoon?

  1. Yeah, in India there is a belief that the full moon affects the mental health of a person. Love the picture here!

    1. Yes, I wouldn't be surprised as biodynamics (a form of organic farming that takes into account lunar phases). Wish I took that photo: it is lovely isn't it?! :) <3

    1. That's true Nisha and I wonder (as far as I understand) if the moon in our astrological chart is related to our personality? ;) <3

    1. Yes, Nabanita, see my comment to Nisha above. Thanks for your comment and question. I don't have an answer regarding health though that would be interesting to know too! :) <3

  4. Elly, this is so profound that I have spent the better part of my adult life in study, research, experimentation, speaking, writing, teaching and coaching people on this and other Universal Laws.

Science is only just know catching up with what meta-physical teachers have known for centuries.

These Universal Laws get every person every single thing they have in their life.

They also get what we get as a society.

That is why I highly recommend that people put their attention on what they DO want and not what they DON'T want.

When you bring awareness to getting rid of something, you actually ADD TO that thing you DO NOT want.

The more people who become aware of this, the better the world will be.

If you are against war, be pro-peace.
If you want any illness to go away, do not raise awareness on that illness. Instead raise awareness of health.
If you do not want hate, be pro-love.
    and on and on.

All these well-intentioned people raising awareness of all the things they do not want would be astounded if they knew they were actually making the situation worse.

    It is Law.

As real and certain as the Law of Gravity.

    :-)

    2. Thanks Kathy for your comments. I notice interestingly enough names of organizations that actually seem to be "against" the cause which they are raising awareness of, fighting for, etc. Makes you wonder doesn't it? Perhaps they are unaware and need to be enlightened? ;) <3

  5. Wow, Elly, you really got Kathy going on this one! I too share your (both of you) belief in the Law of Attraction and what you send out into the world comes back to you - oftentimes even beyond your wildest dreams. There is still so much we don't know and not everything can be solved and resolved by technology. Some matters stem from the heart. THANKS :) HUGS <3

  6. I can testify that you are not off the rocker, Elly :) numerous researches claim that moon affects us as much as it affects the earth.. Infact, the term lunatic means a person who gets mentally affected by full moon.
There was no supermoon here, but it was still ethereal nonetheless! :)
